Clint Richards gives an inside look into the ForestPaths Policy Labs

In a new ForestPaths explainer video, Clint Richards offers insight into an important element of our policy engagement work: the Policy Labs.

The Policy Labs are a series of four flagship events, held approximately once a year, designed to bring a broad range of stakeholders into active dialogue with the project. Each lab builds on the previous one: the first focused on identifying challenges and opportunities, the second on developing a shared vision for the future of European forestry by 2050, while the third and fourth labs are dedicated to building policy pathways and formulating concrete recommendations.

To ensure continuity across the series, the project aims to maintain a consistent group of participants - particularly from the second lab onward, when the shared visions begin to take shape and inform subsequent work. At the same time, the stakeholder mapping is revisited between labs to assess whether the right voices are still at the table.

Findings from each lab are documented in a detailed report, and the project is currently exploring how best to share these publicly, including through the dedicated Policy Engagement Forum LinkedIn page, where more in-depth discussion of the emerging visions and pathways can take place.
