EEA/JRC LULUCF workshop brings together forest carbon experts in Copenhagen

ForestPaths partners took part in the EEA/JRC LULUCF workshop on 27-28 May in Copenhagen. The two-day event brought together researchers, modellers and policy experts from across Europe to exchange the latest advances in greenhouse gas reporting and forest carbon accounting.

ForestPaths was featured across several sessions: Gert-Jan Nabuurs (Wageningen University & Research) presented EFISCEN-Space results on forest biomass and soil carbon projections across 20 countries, and coordinator Hans Verkerk (European Forest Institute) shared preliminary scenario results from ForestPaths. In addition, FORWARDS coordinator RubĂ©n Valbuena presented LPJ-Guess results developed in collaboration between ForestPaths and the FORWARDS project.

The event included presentations from sister projects ForestNavigator and PathFinder and reflected the growing momentum around evidence-based forest policy in Europe.
