Save the date: ForestTalks 4

Save the date: ForestTalks #4 – What needs to happen for Europe’s forests to deliver on the 2050 climate and biodiversity goals?

Join the fourth Forest Talks webinar on 17 November 2026, with a keynote by Frans Timmermans.

Europe’s forests are central to reaching the EU’s climate and biodiversity goals for 2050. But what will it actually take to get there?

The fourth edition of the Forest Talks webinar series will explore this question, bringing together researchers, policymakers and stakeholders working on the future of European forests.

The webinar opens with a keynote by Frans Timmermans, Former Executive Vice-President of the European Commission and EU Climate Chief, and Dutch Foreign Minister.

Three EU-funded research projects – ForestPaths, ForestNavigator and PathFinder – will then present their policy pathways for European forests to 2050. Dr Robert Mavsar, Director of the European Forest Institute, will chair the session.

Participants will hear:

  • views on implementing the European Green Deal in a changing world;
  • which actions are needed to strengthen the role of forests in achieving climate neutrality and halting biodiversity loss.

The webinar will also include an interactive session, giving participants the chance to share their views on the most important actions for climate and biodiversity, and to help shape the discussion.
